Bandaru Dattatraya appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh

Hyderabad: Former Union Minister and Senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatraya has been appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

President Ramnath Kovind on Sunday appointed governors to Himachal Pradesh and other states. Bandaru Dattatraya is a senior BJP leader and two times Union Minister during Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi led NDA governments.

He was union minister for state for labour (independent charge) in the Narendra Modi government during its first tenure. He also served as union minister of state for Railways and also Urban Development in Vajpayee government.

Telangana also got new Governor. Tamilisai Soundararajan is made Governor of Telangana in place of ESL Narasimhan.

President Kovind made several other appointments. Kalraj Mishra, who was Governor of Himachal Pradesh is transferred and appointed as Governor of Rajasthan.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be new Governor of Maharashtra in place of Ch Vidyasagar Rao. Arif Mohammed Khan is made Governor of Kerala.
