Bathukamma reflects culture of living in harmony, says Laxman
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president K Laxman said that Bathukamma festival brings harmony among people and reflects the message of live and let live.
Addressing participants at an event organised to mark the occasion of Bathukamma festival at Golkonda fort here on Saturday, he said, after the TRS has come to power only Kalawakuntla family wanted to be in the ruling and all others in Telangana should live like slaves.
He said until recently Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had annually sanctioned Rs 10 crore to his daughter and former MP K Kavitha in the name of Bathukamma festival but nothing has been done to the festival.
He said several tanks in the city were meant to celebrate the nature's festival and women folk used to celebrate the festival organising Bathukamma in their vicinity.
The Chief Minister promised to rejuvenate all such tanks which were destroyed in united AP. However, nothing has been done for the last six years, he said.
Laxman said that in the name of rejuvenating the tank the TRS government has launched Mission Kakatiya. But it ended up a commission earning schemes for those in the power than rejuvenating the tanks.
