Be prepared for local body polls: SEC Commissioner

Peddapalli: All the officials should be ready for conducting local body elections immediately after the Parliament elections, directed V Nagi Reddy, Commissioner of State Election Commission (SEC).

He informed that the summary revision of voter list was completed by March 31 during a video conference with all district collectors over the preparation for MPTC and ZPTC elections on Tuesday.

District Collector Sri Devasena informed the Commissioner that the district administration is ready to conduct the local body elections for 13 ZPTCs and 138 MPTCs in the district covering 3,70,049 voters. She further informed that they have identified 286 locations and will set up 726 polling stations for the polls. Action plan was prepared for organising meetings with political leaders on April 17 and also to print ballot papers on time. DPO Sudarshan, ICDS Child Development Project Officer Jannapu Reddy Kavita Reddy and others participated in the video conference.
