Bear strays into town
Jangaon: A wild bear, which strayed into bus station area, created commotion among the locals here on Monday.
The bear that made a sudden appearance near bus station at around 3 am shocked the people. When a group of people chased the bear, it climbed a tree inside the
bus depot.
The police, who arrived on the spot, informed the officials of Warangal Zoo Park about the incident. The rescue team shot the bear with a tranquiliser dart to incapacitate it.
Later they brought it down and shifted to Zoo Park in Warangal. Civil sub inspectors Rajesh and Srinivas and Forest officer G Ramalingam were present.
The forest officials said that bears are seen more in rocky areas of Jangaon district. The animal might have strayed into the town for drinking water or food, they said.
