Bhadrachalam: Four Maoist members held

Bhadrachalam: Cherla police on Monday arrested four Maoist militia members at two places, who were involved in many cases.

Police seized 25 gelatine sticks, two detonators and 50 meters length electric wire from one militia member.

The police said that Podium Kotesh, Sode Ramamurthy and Madakam Paika were arrested at R-Kothagudem during regular vehicle checking. The three militia members tried to escape in an auto after seeing the police, who chased and nabbed them. During police enquiry, the trio gave out all information.

Cherla CI B Ravi Kumar said the trio belong to Kondavai and Puligundala villages in Cherla mandal and working as Maoists couriers and participated in many land mine blasting cases and planted mines to kill police.

Another militia member Madakam Haribabu, resident of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh State was caught by Cherla police at Pedanallabelli village. While conducting vehicle checking at Nallabelli village, police noticed a person going into the forest with a bag. He admitted that he was Maoists' courier. Police seized gelatine sticks and detonators from him.

CI B Ravi Kumar said Haribabu was supplying explosives and essential commodities to the banned Maoist. All the four were produced before the court, which remanded them.
