Bhadrachalam: Over 1,000 idols immersed in Godavari

Bhadrachalam: With the conclusion of Ganesh Navarathri celebrations, the devotees from across the district and other districts brought a large number of Ganesh idols to the temple town for immersion in River Godavari on Wednesday.

The officials concerned have made all arrangements at the Godavari Ghat for immersion and necessary precautions have been taken, informed Assistant Superintendent of Police Rajesh Chandra.

Nearly 1,000 idols were immersed on the day. Besides Bhadradri-Kothagudem, the idols also arrived from Hyderabad, Warangal, Nalgonda and Khammam districts. The officials are expecting more idols on Thursday. Further, the irrigation officers have arranged special big boats for the programme.

Meanwhile, the Bhadradri temple officers have also made special arrangements for providing hassle-free darshan of the Lord to the devotees.
