Bhadrachalam: Andhra Pradesh State Sadhu Parishad chief Srinivasananda Saraswati Swamy demanded that the Telangana government immediately release Rs 100 crore for the development of Lord Rama temple in Bhadrachalam.

On Friday, he visited the temple town. Addressing the media later, he threatened to launch a hunger strike in Bhadrachalam if the State government failed to release the promised sum for the temple.

Accusing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar of not paying interest towards the development of Lord Rama temple, he deplored the "scanty facilities" provided at the temple.

He added that the Chief Minister had broken the tradition of presenting the Muthyala Talambralu to the deities during the temple's Brahmotsavalu. He appealed to the Chief Minister to continue the tradition from this year onwards.
