Bhongir: Police bust adulterated milk racket, one held

Bhongir: The Bhongir division ACP Bhujanga Rao stated that SOT and rural police in a joint operation busted adulterated milk racket in Bhongir mandal and seized 300 liters of adulterated milk and packing materials from the accused while transporting the milk to customers in Hyderabad.

The arrested was identified as Kusukuntla Janga Reddy (40) of Bollepally village of Bhongir mandal.

Briefing the media at rural police station here on Wednesday, ACP Bhujanga Rao said K Janga Reddy is a milk vendor and supplies milk to hotels and sweet shops located in Hyderabad.

In the early stages, he used to add water to milk to get profits. But later with the intention of earning more money by backdoor methods, he started preparing adulterated milk by adding water and Hydrogen Peroxide. He used to mix this in the milk collected from dairy farmers and supplying it to customers.

On August 11, police caught him red-handed while transporting 300 liters of milk including 200 liters adulterated milk to Hyderabad. Police seized 13 Dholpur fresh milk powder packets, eight liters of Hydrogen Peroxide in two cans, steel rod, seven plastic cans, one steel can along with 300 liters of adulterated milk.

Bhongir rural police station CI V Janaiah, SI Ragahvender Goud, ASI PSN Prasad, SOT Bhongir SI Lakshmi Narayana and staff were present at the press meet.
