Big efforts to reach voters

Hyderabad: The high-pitched poll campaign comes to an end on Tuesday in Telangana as the elections for 17 Parliamentary constituencies are scheduled to be held on Thursday.

On the last day of the campaign, BJP national president Amit Shah will take up a whirlwind tour of a few some Lok Sabha constituencies while TRS working president KT Rama Rao will be busy holding a series of road shows in Malkajgiri and Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituencies.

The Congress, TRS and BJP contestants will be organising mini public meetings in their segments to woo the voters. Amit Shah, accompanied by a few national leaders, will attend election rallies in the Chevella Lok Sabha segment from where BJP leader B Janardhan Reddy is contesting.

Shah will also attend a public meeting in Shamshabad. As part of winding up the poll campaign, BJP will conduct a bike rally in Hyderabad Lok Sabha segment to be attended by Union Minister Hardeep Singh and other senior leaders.

KTR has been invited to join roadshows and bike rallies in Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Chevella segments.

The TRS working president was busy holding evening roadshows for the last 10 days in the three important Lok Sabha segments which are crucial for TRS to win 16 out of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies.

In a bid to reinforce the promise of addressing the farmers' plights, Nizamabad TRS candidate and sitting MP K Kavitha will be holding a rally on the last day of her campaign.

TPCC president and Nalgonda Lok Sabha candidate N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress candidates from Chevella, Bhongir and Khammam - Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Renuka Choudary will attend the mini public meetings in the villages organised by the local cadre.

All parties made arrangements to organise door-to-door campaign on Wednesday, a day before the polling.

The party incharges of the assembly segments have been entrusted the responsibility of conducting meetings with community leaders, youth organisations and women's groups to ensure their support to the respective party candidates.

The local party cadre was instructed to take up mass campaigns on the promises made by the Congress and BJP in the last two days.

The Congress party's promise of Rs 6,000 minimum income to the poor and BJP's assurance to extend pension to all the farmers above 60 years are among the important promises made in the election manifesto.

Leaders said that TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao and other party state unit presidents will hold teleconferences with all contestants to ascertain the winning prospects of the party in every Lok Sabha segment on Tuesday evening.
