Bike offer for whistle blowers by an NGO Jwala in Warangal
Warangal: In what is termed as a unique experiment to combat corruption, the 'Jwala', a NGO working for the eradication of corruption, has come up with an offer of providing motorcycle, gold and mobile phone to those whistle blowers, who help Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in nabbing the officials resorting to corruption, wilful misuse of power or discretion, or criminal offences by public servants.
Releasing the posters here on Wednesday, Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha called upon youth to fight against the corruption. "Corruption has fierce impact on economic and societal development," she said, assuring the district administration's support in tackling the social malady.
The Jwala would provide prizes to whistle blowers, who help in trapping the corrupt officials between December 5 and 9, Jwala founder-president Sunkari Prashanth said.
It may be mentioned here that the organisation came up with the offer as part of the International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9.
He said that whistleblowers, who scalp a State-level official, will get a bike. Likewise, one tola gold and cell phone would be given to the whistle blowers for getting caught district and mandal-level officials respectively. Lok Satta Udyama Samstha State advisor Dr Pracha Kodandarama Rao, Sri Valli Developers head Nune Purnachander, ganapathi Shilpi Work proprietor Shilpi Sundar, Jwala members Manda Ashok Kumar, Golla Narender and Nizam were among others present.
