Asifabad: Bird Walk Festival on December 14, 15

Asifabad: With dense forests, beautiful hills and waterfalls, Komaram Bheem-Asifabad district has become home for beautiful nature, different kinds of birds like long billed vulture, common kingfisher, Indian Roller, Amur Falcon, Rose Ringer, Parakeet and attracting the tourists. Hence, the forest officers have planned to create awareness on the conservation of biodiversity in villages with the help of bird lovers.

Speaking to The Hans India, District Forest Officer L Ranjeeth Naik said that they are organising Bird Walk Festival on December 14 and 15 for the study of bird species in the district. Several new bird species are appearing in the district and so far, they have identified 270 types of birds, he said. They have planned the walk festival to provide an opportunity for bird and nature lovers and tourists to see different types of birds and to create awareness among the villages on biodiversity conservation. So far, more than 100 bird lovers have registered their names and will participate in the Bird Walk Festival to be held on December 14 and 15. Photography, videography, documentary, survey, and study on life styles of birds will be included in this festival, which they have been organising for the past three years, Ranjeeth added.

The District Forest Officer said that Kosini village of Kagaznagar mandal, Malini hills of Sirpur (T), Nandigama hills of Penchikalpet mandal, Pavuralla Gutta, Morli Guda of Pranahitha river basin, Gundala of Tiryani mandal and Aada reservoir will be covered in the Walk festival. The officials are busy in making arrangements for the Forest Walk Festival in the areas.
