BJP activists plant paddy on Damargidda-Narayanpet highway
Narayanpet: The Bharatiya Janata Party activists in Narayanpet staged a protest by coming out on roads and sowing paddy on the muddy highway on Monday.
The BJP activists while placing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's portrait on the highway alleged that the State government has miserably failed in developing the road infrastructure in Narayanpet district and said that the highway between Damargidda and Narayanpet mandals was in pathetic condition which needed urgent attention of the government.
"It is more than six years that the State government had not taken a single step to repair the Damargidda-Narayanpet highway. There have been hundreds of accidents occurring on this road every year due to potholes and slippery roads due to accumulation of mud during rainy season. We are demanding the government to construct the road at the earliest or will be forced intensify our protest," said the BJP activists, while sowing paddy as a mark of their protest.
The roads in Narayanpet, Damargidda and other parts of the Narayanpet district have been under construction in various places and as the contractors have left the roads in the middle, the rains have created a havoc with flood waters washing away the roads in many places and turning akin to fields.
In view of the above, the BJP activists have demanded immediate attention of the government to improve local roads in Narayanpet district.
