BJP celebrates Deendayal Upadhyaya's 103rd birth anniversary in Khammam
Khammam: The 103rd birth anniversary celebrations of Bharatiya Jana Sangh co-founder Deendayal Upadhyaya were conducted by the BJP leaders in Khammam town on Wednesday. Party State Core Committee member and former MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy participated in the programme as the chief guest and cut a cake and distributed sweets among inmates of an old age home in the town. He also garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr BR Ambedkar and Mother Teresa on the day.
Speaking on the occasion, Ponguleti recalled the services of Deendayal and stated that every should remember him and pay tributes. The BJP leader also called upon party leaders and workers to participate in Swachh Bharat programmes, and directed them to publicise the Central government schemes being implemented for the betterment of all sections of the society. Later, the party leaders conducted mass feeding programme for poor people on the occasion.
Party leaders K Sridhar Reddy, town party president Rudra Pradeep, K Upender, Nagender, Murali, Laxmaiah, Pardhasaradhi, Durgaprasad Reddy, K Srinivas Rao, M Subba Rao, P Rama Rao, Vinod Chowdary, Sekhar and Pratap attended the programme.
