BJP demands extension of Assembly session by a week

Hyderabad: BJP on Wednesday demanded that the government extend the Assembly session by one week for discussing many public issues. Talking to reporters here, BJP leader N Ramchander Rao said instead of holding the session for just two days, the government should extend it for a week so that many public issues can be discussed.

He said the State is facing problems like drought, farm distress, issue of unemployment and law and order situation. "There was no session after the budget session and government is stating that it would hold Assembly session only for two days. Why is the government afraid to extend the session," asked Ramchander Rao.

He welcomed some of the Congress and TJS leaders into the party. TJS leader Panduranga Rao, vice president T Srinivas Rao, Congress leader G Shyam Kumar and other 50 leaders joined the BJP on Wednesday. BJP leaders G Premender Reddy, media convener V Sudhakar Sharma, State Beti Bachao Beti Padhao convener Y Geeta Murthy, N Gautam Rao, G Subhashchanderji, K Anthony Reddy were also present.
