BJP gears up to corner Congress on abrogation of Article 370

Hyderabad: The BJP State unit is all set to take on the Congress party on the issue of abrogation of Article 370 and 35A during its mass contact programme which would soon be launched across the State.

According to the party leaders, the mass connect programme is taken up following the direction of the national party to meet people to explain the party's stand behind abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.

As part of the awareness programme party State and national leaders and Union Ministers will be meeting prominent people from various walks of life. Besides, the national party leaders and Union Ministers will also hold meetings at different districts in the State to expose the Congress party's opposition over the issue.

Speaking to The Hans India, a senior party leader said the party has already announced to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 in a big way across the State. In addition to this, the party would take into people how the grand old party has been stoking discord among people opposing Article 370 and 35A.

Party Chief Official Spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said that BJP would expose the double standards of the Congress on the issue and its vote bank politics of appeasement. He said the stand taken by the Congress on the issue makes one doubt whether it is representing people of the country or Pakistan or China?

Terming the Congress has become a rudderless boat, he asked, "if the existence of Congress is of any relevance in the country when it fails to stand on the side of people's wishes."

He questioned Congress for not spelling out clearly why it wanted to oppose abrogation of Article 370. Whether it doesn't want integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India or is it opposing the historical blunder corrected by the BJP led Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi by abrogating the said article.
