BJP govt adopting anti-people's policies: Left parties

Karimnagar: Leaders of Left parties (CPM, CPI and Forward Block) on Wednesday blocked the road near NTR statue on bypass road in Karimnagar in protest against the Central government for adopting anti-people policies across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, they alleged that after coming to power for the second time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, instead of sending about 1,051 biggies to jail, who did not pay debts about Rs 100 to Rs 500 crores to banks, suspended their

loan amount of about Rs 2,75,000 crores and reduced corporate tax from 32 per cent to 22 per cent, due to which the nation is losing around Rs 1,44,000 crores.

Apart from that, by collecting about 200 per cent of tax on petrol and diesel from the people, the Central government had enhanced its income from Rs 1,65,000 crores to Rs 3,85,000 crores, they pointed out.

The Left party leaders alleged that unemployment problems have increased to 9.94 per cent, which is the highest for the past 50 years; and the farming community is facing too much of crisis in the country. Instead of solving these burning issues, the Prime Minister is collecting plastic wastage in the beach to get that extra mileage of publicity, they criticised.

They demanded the Central government to focus on the burning issues, which the people are facing along with providing all necessary basic facilities for the people. The police arrested the leaders for blocking the road and shifted them to police training centre.

CPM district secretary Mukunda Reddy, CPI Panuganti Kedari, Forward Block Vamshidhar, V Venkat Reddy, Sathyam, Sampath, Raji Reddy, Shekar, A Ramesh, Srujan Kumar, Shoba Rani, P Raju, Manikanta, Sada Shivudu and Laxman were present along with others.
