BJP K Laxman asks KCR to control prices of essential commodities

Hyderabad: Keeping aside the political differences in a show of joining hands in troubled times, BJP Telangana leaders welcomed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao taking stringent measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the State.

Several State party leaders, appreciating the measures of the government, have appealed to the people to stay indoors and extend their cooperation to the lockdown and strictly adhere to the advisories issued by the government.

Former State BJP president Dr K Laxman in a statement welcomed the steps taken by the State government. In a bid to control the sale of essential commodities at higher prices, he asked to dispatch vehicles with vegetables to different areas.

This is to prevent people from gathering in groups at different market places. He appealed to the people to extend their cooperation to save themselves, their families, state and the country.

BJP State chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao welcomed the government directives on state lockdown and other precautionary initiatives to contain the spread of coronavirus in the State.

He asked CM KCR to ensure supply and providing basic commodities at fair price shops and implement the promised 12 Kg rice and Rs 1,500 to the white ration cardholders through the existing civil supplies network.

Sounding a caution on the hoarding of essential commodities by few traders for profiteering, he asked the State government to take steps to regulate the prices of the vegetables and essential commodities.

He urged people to stay home to self-isolation and not to come onto the streets as directed by the state government.

BJP MLC N Ramachander Rao asked CM KCR to go all out taking stringent measures against those violating lockdown regulations.

"Take strict action against those who are stepping out from their houses without any reason. This is a time of cooperation between the government and the people to contain the spread of coronavirus," he said.
