BJP MP from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya has been booked under section 447 of IPC (criminal trespass) after he had entered the Osmania University campus by breaking open barriers at NCC gate. A complaint was filed by the OU administration stating that he did not have permission for a rally in the college.

Tejasvi Surya claimed that he and his supporters were denied entry into varsity by the police on the order of Telangana CM KCR. The MP tried to enter the campus to pay his respects to Telangana movement martyrs.

The BJP MP lashed out at CM KCR and said that the state was not his private jagir and belonged to common youth. "Try how much ever you want, KCR Garu, but you can't stop BJYM from paying respects to Telangana martyrs. You are in power today because of the sacrifice of thousands of common students of Telangana. Please don't forget their sacrifices," he tweeted.

However, the police in a statement said that no such incident of the stoppage by the police or clash with police has happened at the OU campus and the MP, along with his followers, went inside the campus and conducted a meeting peacefully at the Arts College Building.
