BJP returns Akbaruddin's fire
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday warned AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi against allegedly giving hate speech against Hindu community in the country.
Reacting to a speech by the AIMIM MLA which hit the headlines on Wednesday, BJP State chief spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said, "the BJP condemns the unprovoked and un-instigated hate speech in Telangana the other day which is not warranted."
He said there was no reason, no one challenged him and there was no incident that calls for such a speech against the majority community.
But, the Majlis leader goes to his old ways to threaten the majority community of the nation, to destabilise peace and tranquillity in the State.
He should mend his ways before it is too late for this kind of utterances and threats to the Hindu community which will have serious consequences, he added.
Rao asked Akbaruddin what does he mean when he said fear has to be instilled? "What do you intend to do to instil fear into Hindus? What is your plan of action and what is your agenda? Do you want to create communal violence?
When you threaten Hindus or an entire nation, do you want to be allowed to have that agenda? A polarised agenda and a divisive agenda," he questioned.
The BJP leader said the issue would surely be brought to the notice of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
He reminded how Shah had pointed out to the Majlis MP Asaduddin Owaisi when he was raising objection in the parliament to first change his mindset of fear and insecurity and that would make him see everything in good light.
Rao said, "this nation is a tolerant one. It shall not mean it is a weakness. You (Akabaruddin Owaisi) should stop playing around. Otherwise, the BJP warns, you will face serious consequences."
