BJP seeks Amit Shah's help in controlling Coronavirus in Telangana
Hyderabad: Former BJP state president Dr K Laxman sought the intervention of the Centre in containing the spread of Covid in Hyderabad and Telangana.
In a letter addressed to the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, he briefed at length the sorry state of affairs resulting in signs of rampant community spread of Covid Hyderabad and rest of Telangana State.
Seeking the Centers immediate intervention to save the lives of people, he said "We have no option but to request your intervention to ensure that things shouldn't go beyond control in Telangana. He asked the Amit Shah to send a high-power team vested with the power to make instantaneous decisions and give instructions to save the people of Telangana and save the city of Hyderabad."
The former BJP MLA while pointing out the attitude of the State government in handling Covid, said while the ICMR has permitted a few private labs and hospitals for testing purposes, the State government is not allowing them to function.
Further, in a bizarre case, a certain lab in Hyderabad conducted a test of a Covid suspect in compliance with the State High Hourt order. But, the State government booked a case and seized the lab. This is the nature of harassment that is being meted out to the duly permitted labs. He said the State government is neither testing people on a larger scale nor is allowing individuals to approach labs and hospitals for tests when they have an element of doubt.
