Briefing on the issues the BJP delegation told the governor that though the country got independence on 15 August 1947, the Telangana region, which was part of Hyderabad Samsthan, got liberated on 17 September 1948.

This was after a sustained and relentless fight of the people of the Samstan for over 13 months as a consequence of the bold decision of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhai Patel who took a bold decision to launch Police Action.

Earlier also, agitations were taken up by several of the party leaders from time to time including Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, former Governor of Maharashtra, when he was the State President of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
