BJP seeks probe into Inter results fiasco in Warangal
Warangal: The police foiled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists' bid to lay siege to Urban Collectorate in protest against the arrest of party's State president K Laxman. It's learnt that police right from the early hours on Tuesday took several BJP leaders into custody.
The police also arrested BJP Urban district president Rao Padma Reddy when she led a rally to Collectorate. Condemning the arrest of party workers, Padma Reddy criticised the State government for being insensitive towards the cause of Intermediate students. "Even though several students ended their lives due to the goof up in Intermediate results, the government appears to be nonchalant," she said.
Stating that the TRS government is incapable of handling Intermediate examinations, Padma Reddy demanded the resignation of Education Minister G Jagadeeshwar Reddy and Intermediate Board secretary for their failure. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who often reiterates Bangaru Telangana, has in fact turned the State as a haven for suicides, she said.
KCR, who is busy purchasing MLAs of other parties, has no time to focus on Intermediate students, who were in chaos after the announcement of results, Padma Reddy alleged. She demanded the government to release Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia to the families of those students, who ended their lives. She also demanded a probe into Intermediate results goof up.
G Yadagiri, R Kishan, K Santhosh Reddy, S Jagadeeshwar, M Suresh, P Rajendraprasad, B Harishankar, M Narender and Narsing Goud were among others arrested by the police.
