BJP, TRS hoodwinked people: CPM
Warangal: Owing to the disunity among the Opposition ranks, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were able to succeed in the Assembly and Parliamentary elections, Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretariat member M Chukkaiah said.
Speaking at the valedictory of two-day political training classes here on Sunday, he said that TRS and the BJP hoodwinked people by misrepresenting the facts.
Both the parties lured the voters by spending huge amounts and distributing liquor, he alleged. This apart, the Opposition failed to unite to defeat these bourgeois parties, he added.
"Even though they have failed in the recent elections, the Communists will be back with vengeance.
The presence of Communists is inevitable as long as corrupt practices exist in the country," he said. Further he expressed confidence that middleclass people would continue their support to Communists.
It's time for the Communists to gear up for long term agitations to exert pressure on Central and State governments for their anti-people policies, Chukkaiah said.
Vankudoth Veeranna, T Uppalaiah, Dharavath Bhanu Naik, Azmeera Venkanna, Bukya Narasimha, L Deepa, P Sujatha and D Aruna were among
others present.
