Update: 2019-10-17 03:20 IST

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP leaders on Wednesday called on Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and requested the latter to protect the valuable TSRTC assets from encroachment by private agencies.

In the wake of reports that the government is planning to auction all the RTC assets worth crores of rupees, the BJP delegation led by State unit president K Laxman submitted a memorandum and urged Tamilisai to rescue the RTC from the privatisation as proposed by the Government.

Laxman and party State general secretary K Ramachandra Rao alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conspired to destabilise the corporation by selling the RTC assets to the private groups. The BJP leaders said that KCR was exploiting power to benefit his family members who are in transport business.

They received information that some costly lands owned by RTC were already encroached upon by the TRS leaders and influential persons. It was the second time in a week that the State BJP delegation met the Governor. Sources said that the BJP leaders briefed the political situation in the State after RTC workers have gone on strike. The Governor also shared her views on the State politics in the meeting.
