Hyderabad: Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said that BJP would form the next government at the Centre. He hoped that the party would improve its tally in Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the media here, he said that the regional parties engaged in misleading propaganda against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi could even join the NDA government post elections.

He said, "We cannot even rule out the possibility of even the TDP joining the NDA after elections." Giving reasons for such a scenario, the BJP MP said all the regional parties are more worried about their regional interests than the national interests.

It was due to the regional parties that the country had faced instability during 1996-98 period in the country. A strong and stable government at the Centre would help in taking forward the national interest.

The Modi's government is also working in a spirit of inclusive growth of all the regions in the country, he said.

"I want to tell him (Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao) that Modi's government had provided funds to the tune of Rs 2.25 lakh crore to Telangana State, which was more than what the State had expected from the Centre," he claimed.

Adding, Modi has contributed more than KCR for the development of the State with the Centre providing Rs 62,000 core for the national highways and 18 lakh small and marginal farmers from Telangana have been benefitted so far under the Pradhana Manthi Kisan Saman Yojana (PKKSN).

Dattatreya said that KCR took the credit for the 24-hour power supply in the State. This was made possible only because the Modi's government had provided Rs 32,000 crore for the transmission lines connecting the south-north grid from Balarsha, Nizamabad to Vijayawada.

Similarly, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked whether the country was the fiefdom of the PM. He said neither BJP nor Modi had ever made such a claim and asked whether Andhra Pradesh is the fiefdom of the TDP chief?

Criticising the CM's of both the Telugu States for using inappropriate language against the PM, he demanded an apology from both for the same.
