Blue Colts to patrol 24 hrs: SP C Shashidhar Raju

Nirmal: Police have seized 48 two-wheelers, nine autos, four tippers, 50 sand-laden tractors and liquor bottles worth Rs 6,200 were detained for verification during cordon and search operation in Shanti Nagar in Nirmal town on Thursday. About 90 police personnel participated in the search operation.

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju said they have seized vehicles, which do not have proper documents. He said that they are conducting cordon and search operation to control crime and explained the locals about the law.

New Blue colt and patrol car teams have been launched for 24x7 surveillance in urban and rural areas. These teams will be patrolling continuously for public safety and will monitor the movement of criminals.

The SP said there is a need to install CCTV cameras at the main centre of the village and urged the villagers to wear helmets without fail for their family and kids. He said that everyone should cooperate in controlling the crime and warned that legal action will be taken against those, who don't have proper documents.

In case of any emergency people should Dial 100 for police help and asked them to inform the police if they found anyone suspicious or any information about anti-social elements. He assured that the identity of the informers will not be revealed.

The SP felicitated a villager, who always wears helmet.

DSP Upender Reddy, Inspector John Diwakar, Srinivas Reddy, RI Venkat, Sub-Inspectors and constables and about 90 police personnel participated in the cordon and search operation.
