Boneless chicken price shoot upto Rs 500 per kg in Hyderabad
Chicken price in Hyderabad: In the view of Ramzan, the price of boneless chicken shot up to Rs 500 per kg in Hyderabad at several chicken centres in the city.
The shortage in poultry production is also one of the reasons behind the chicken prices hitting all-time record. The chicken price has doubled during the lockdown period from Rs 250 to Rs 300. Two weeks back, the price of the boneless chicken was Rs 400 per kg and on Sunday, it was priced at Rs 500 per kg.
Earlier, the chicken prices fell drastically over coronavirus scare and the price of skinless chicken used to fluctuate between Rs 150 and Rs 170 per kg. However, the price of the skinless chicken now went up to Rs 250-280 per kg.
The sudden increase in the demand for chicken during the festive season and reduce in supply are the two primary factors that led to the rise in the prices. The rising temperatures across the State were also the reason that had hit live birds in farms badly.
On the other hand, the mutton prices which have gone near to Rs 1,000 per kg have come down in the last few days.
