Sircilla: Book reading is a healthy habit. To create interest among the students on reading books, who have been becoming addicted to smart phones, the TRS government is taking initiation for strengthening the libraries present across the State, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said.

On Saturday, he inaugurated District Central Library, constructed with an investment of Rs 3.60 crores at Ambedkar Chowrastha in Sircilla.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said the newly constructed District Central Library is going to be one of the milestone in the development of the district as it is specially designed on the lines of White House of America providing all modern facilities for the readers and various sections of people.

This is a unique of kind of library, which is not present anywhere in the State. It is constructed with an inspiration derived by seeing the Asia Pacific Library in Mumbai.

The library should become a place to spread knowledge to various sections of the people, he added.

TRS working president said that libraries are the only places which will cope-up with modern technology that has been increasing enormously and will divert the attention of youth and students, who are becoming obsessed to smart mobile phones and internet.

Employees, teachers, students, representatives of various peoples' organisations must utilise this opportunity by visiting the library, which has several kinds of books required for all sections of people.

The library is named as CNR to pay tributes to the legendary poet and writer C Narayana Reddy, KTR informed.

District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, SP Rahul Hegde, Municipal Chairperson Samala Pavani and TRS leaders were present along with others.
