[BREAKING]: 7 cops test positive for coronavirus in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: As many as seven policemen working at Banjara Hills police station tested positive for coronavirus in Hyderabad. The incident comes as a shocker to the police department. The number of positive cases is expected to rise further in the department as the primary contacts of the patients were put in quarantine and are being tested.
The frontline workers are falling prey to the deadly virus including doctors. Along with the commoners, the public representatives are also getting infected with the virus leaving the people in a state of panic. Last week, the doctors and other medical staff working in Gandhi and NIMS tested positive for coronavirus.
The state has been witnessing a massive spike in coronavirus positive cases. On Wednesday, around 191 cases were reported across the state including 143 in GHMC limits followed by 11 persons each in Medchal and Sangareddy districts. Eight from Rangareddy, four from Mahbubnagar, three each from Jagtial and Medak, two each from Nagarkurnool and Karimnagar, one each from Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Nalgonda and Siddipet infected with the virus.
With the new cases, the total tally reached to 4,111 and the number of active cases has gone up to 2,138.
