Telangana govt. postpones CETs including EAMCET 2020

The Telangana government told the High Court that it has decided to postpone all the CETs including EAMCET. The government counsel said that it is necessary to impose lockdown in the state in the wake of a spike in the coronavirus cases and decided to postpone all the entrance exams.

This comes after the state High Court asked the government to decide on the lockdown as it is difficult to conduct the exams during the lockdown. A petition was filed in the High Court to postpone all the CETs in the state as the government is planning to announce lockdown.

It may be recalled that the government had cancelled the SSC exams in the state and the results were announced according to the internal assessment marks secured by the students. However, it is yet to be known if the degree, pg and engineering exams are deferred.

Meanwhile, the government will take a decision on the lockdown soon after the cabinet meeting which is scheduled to be held in this week.
