Hyderabad: Lockdown in Hyderabad will be decided after the cabinet meeting and the people will be informed when the government decides to impose lockdown, said Telangana chief secretary Somesh Kumar. The government is striving to reduce the number of COVID-19 deaths in the state and if necessary lockdown will be imposed, he added.
The government should also check on the operation of trains, flights and inter-state transport before announcing lockdown, Somesh Kumar said.
He said that the government is taking all the measures to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state and the COVID-19 tests are being held as per the ICMR guidelines. Somesh Kumar also asked the people not to worry over the tests as the government is intensifying the tests in the state.
"The tests are being held in a different manner in different states. At present, the government enhanced the tests, beds for patients and oxygen facility is being provided for all the beds," he said adding the people to follow precautionary measures and avoid getting infected with the virus.
The patients in home isolation should not worry as the government will take care of them, he said.
