Keshava Rao urges RTC workers to call off strike
Hyderabad: TRS Parliamentary party leader K Keshava Rao on Monday urged the RTC workers to call of their strike before things get out of their hands and sit with government to resolve their issues in legitimate fashion.
Keshava Rao said that he had drafted the party's manifesto and there was non mention of merger of RTC with government.
The TRS MP urged the government to consider the demands of the workers other than merger.
He welcomed the chief minister K Chandrashekar Raos decision not to privatise the corporation. The decision to operate 50 per cent RTC buses, 30 per cent hire and 20 per cent routes to private operators should be seen as an experiment, said Keshava Rao. "There was a difference between government organisation and public sector enterprise and these run under government control. Social control is always preferred over the state control. Government is not a commercial organisation. No vested party can decide the policy of an elected government," said Rao.
