Hyderabad: Car Hamara, Sarkar Hamara and Mayor Hamara, this is in a nutshell what TRS working president K T Rama Rao said on Thursday.

Participating in Meet-the-Press programme, KTR said that there was no question of conceding mayor post to AIMIM. "Are we mad to give mayor post to them? We will have woman mayor from TRS," he said. "There was no alliance with AIMIM and one should understand that during the last GHMC elections. TRS had won five divisions in MIM areas. This time TRS will win in 10 divisions," he said.

Taking a dig at BJP, KTR said the Chief Minister had hoisted the national flag at Golconda and hence there was no need for saffron flag to flutter there. "TRS would go to the people and ask them what they want. A peaceful Hyderabad under TRS rule and development or anarchy? Sabka Hyderabad or Hyderabad of a few," he asked

KTR said they would also highlight the developmental programmes they had taken up in the last six years. The government spent Rs 67,000 crore. A detailed list of works done would be released soon. Countering the BJP criticism, KTR said the GHMC had been focussing on providing basic amenities and the works were there for all to see. "We have constructed roads, flyovers, restored lakes. Telangana has become the hub for investments," he added."From the situation where people used to get water once a week in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, now water is being supplied every day. It was only KCR who thought of constructing a reservoir to resolve the water problem in the city," he said.

The BJP, he felt, has been going overboard in making allegations. They should explain what they have done for the state. They could get nothing from the Centre for the state. Even during recent floods, the BJP leaders did not take up any relief activities.

KTR said the government took up construction of one lakh double bedroom houses with Rs 9,700 crore and these are in the final stages. It had provided house pattas to 1 lakh residents under the GO 58 and 59. The government would bring a new and stringent GHMC Act during January-February. He said that the government would deal with an iron hand with those who try to inflame religious differences.

Replying to a question, he said TRS policy was like that of Modi, 'vocal for local'. Referring to the slowdown of the economy, KTR said it was not on account of corona but because of policies of the Centre during the last eight months.

He said it was matter of 10 more days and people will punish them if the claims of TRS were wrong and will bless them if they believe that the TRS had changed the face of Hyderabad in the last six years.
