Mahbubnagar: With an aim to help provide better support price for cotton farmers in Mahbubnagar district, Mahbubnagar MP Manne Srinivas Reddy and Jadcherla MLA Dr Laxma Reddy inaugurated a CCI cotton procurement centre at Jadcherla Agriculture market yard on Wednesday.

While speaking on the occasion, the MP said that during the previous Congress and TDP governments in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh lakhs of farmers committed suicide as the government had failed to provide minimum support price and was least bothered for the welfare of the farmers. However, after formation of Telangana, the TRS government under the able leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been doing everything possible for improving the living conditions and economic conditions of the poor farmers in the State.

"The cotton farmers need not worry now. With the CCI cotton procurement centre launched in Jadcherla, the farmers from all regions of Mahbubnagar can get access to this centre and sell their produce at MSP price to the government. All farmers must utilise this opportunity and gain maximum from this centre," said Manne Srinivas Reddy.

The Jadcherla MLA thanked the MP for convincing the CCI to open a cotton procurement centre in Jadcherla which is very much useful for the local cotton farmers who can access it and sell their produce at reasonable MSP price and benefit from it.
