CCTV cameras can reduce crime: Nirmal SP
Nirmal: Police have seized 76 two wheelers, three autos, two Tata vehicles, liquor cases worth Rs 10,770, and gutka packets worth Rs 5,000 at Lolam village under Dilawarpur police station limits in Nirmal district on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju, who supervised the cordon and search operation, said that to develop confidence on the safety and security among the people, police will conduct cordon and search operation and asked the people to inform the police immediately by dialling 100 if they found unidentified persons and anti-social elements taking shelter in their villages.
The people were asked to set up CCTV cameras in their villages to help the police in solving criminal cases. He felt that the criminals also think twice before committing crime, if cameras were installed.
He asked the villagers to come forward voluntarily and the police will install security cameras in their villages.
The SP wanted the people to carry all the documents of their vehicles like driving license, RC book, insurance, pollution certificate in their vehicles.
DSP Upendar Reddy, Inspectors Jhondiwakar, Srinivas Reddy, TO Venkat, SI and police constables participated in the cordon and search operation.
