Ceiling parts fall in Supt peshi at Osmania General Hospital
Afzal Gunj: The Osmania General Hospital (OGH) staff and patients are living in a constant fear and are irked over the complacent attitude of the officials concerned.
The building fell into disrepair, quite literally, as blocks of the ceiling in the in-patient ward fell down at regular intervals in the last few months, injuring patients.
Doctors say they fear working inside the hospital given that the roof could once again fall on their heads.
Dr R Pandu Naik, OGH JAC Chairman, said, "There was a similar instance a few months back where an attendant of a patient was walking through a corridor and the ceiling parts fell on her causing grievous injury to her.
We have informed the government authorities many times but all in vain.
The authorities, a few days back, came out with blueprints and plans to build a new building and shifting the wards there but all that is delayed due to elections.
We just want the authorities to look after the safety of everyone working and admitted here."
