Cenosphere at the Ash Pond Area in Ramagundam

Ramagundam: For the first time, collection of Cenosphere started at NTPC Ramagundam Ash Pond on Tuesday. Nishant Bhat, Director from M/s Sarlachem India Private Limited, Gujarat, collected the Cenosphere at the ash pond area in the presence of BC Polai, GM (Operation) and NTPC officials. Recently, NTPC has awarded the contract to M/s Sarlachem for collection and sale of Cenosphere.

Cenospheres, the high strength, small sized, lightweight, non-porous, free flowing, hollow ceramic spheres produced in coal fired thermal power plants during the burning of coal at very elevated temperatures, find extensive usage across a number of industries owing to their physical properties. Industries such as oil and gas, building, aerospace, automotive and surface coating continue to be some of the leading consumers of cenospheres.
