Central team holds meeting with irrigation dept. officials on Medigadda barrage
The meeting of the central team with the engineers of the state irrigation department has ended. The central team meeting was led by CWC Chief Engineer Anil Jain and ENCs Muralidhar, Nagendra Rao, Venkateshwarlu, OSD Sridhar Deshpande and representatives of L&T participated in this meeting. Engineers reviewed Medigadda barrage and discussed on the technical aspects of the barrage.
Speaking on this occasion, Telangana ENC Muralidhar made it clear that there are no structural defects in the Kaleshwaram project. He said that due to a problem in the seventh block, the center pier collapsed and opined that it was a small mistake somewhere. "We think the problem is due to sand. Quality of Sand, Quality of Construction has approvals. Muralidhar stated that they will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the coffer dam in November after the flood subsides.
It is known that the senior officials of the Irrigation Department are saying that the sagging of the pillar in the Medigadda Barrage has not affected the Kaleswaram and there is a possibility of providing irrigation water as usual.
