Centre committed to end terror activities in J&K, says Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said 733 terrorists have been killed in the operations by the security forces in the Jammu and Kashmir since 2016.
Giving details in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday the Minister said the Centre is determined to curb the menace of terror activities in the valley.
Kishan Reddy said as per the details available till June 16, 113 terrorists have been killed in the security forces operations in 2019, besides 18 civilians have lost their lives.
He said the government is committed in eradicating those extending their support to the terror activities in the valley. He said in all 222 incidents were recorded during 2014 the same has gone up to 614 in 2018.
While 257 terrorists were killed in 2018, in 2017 the security forces have killed 213 during their operations, he added.
Similarly, 150 terrorists have been neutralised by the security forces in 2016, he said.
Besides, taking the terrorists to task the government has also focused on those extending their support to such activities, Kishan Reddy said.
