Centre team to visit Hyderabad to implement coronavirus containment measures

In view of the surge in the number of coronavirus positive cases, a three-member team from the central government will be visiting Hyderabad. The team will be alerting the concerned authorities over the measures to be taken to contain the virus in the affected areas in the state.

The team constitutes of a senior officer from the Health Department, a Joint secretary level nodal officer and a public health expert. Around 10 teams will be visiting Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Earlier, the Union ministry of Health had sent a five-member inter-ministerial team to inspect the containment clusters in Hyderabad and the study the measures being taken up by the state government to curb the spread of the virus.

The team visited the Malakpet containment zone, Rythu Bazar at Mehdipatnam, Telangana institute of medical sciences in Gachibowli, Annapurna canteen in Gachibowli, Akshaya Pathra central kitchen in Kokapet and Narsingi and other places. The inter-ministerial central team appreciated the initiatives taken by the state government to contain the virus.
