Chada Venkat Reddy urges CM KCR not to close government schools
Hyderabad: CPI Telangana State secretary and former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy Saturday expressed concern over the government's move to close down some 12,000 schools in the State, according to some media reports.
In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the CPI leader asked the CM to protect interests of SC, ST, BC and Minorities students studying in government schools.
Even Supreme Court had asked the States to focus on education to these sections, which are ought to get it as per Constitution, he said.
"If the government ignored the Right to Education Act, some 5,000 schools are set to close in the State and it is time for providing equipment and facilities in the government schools", he added.
