Cheating case filed against BJP leader

Hyderabad: A cheating case has been registered at the Banjara Hills Police Station against a BJP local leader named B Chandrashekar for cheating a person in the name of a monthly chit to the tune of Rs 13 lakh.

According to Banjara Hills police B Chandrasekhar, who is residing at Road No.14 Nandinagar in Banjara Hills, is the BJP president of Venkateshwara nagar Colony Division.

He has been doing chit business since few years. Sambasivarao (70) of same area subscribed to the chit worth of Rs 10 lakh.

After completion of the chit tenure Sambasivarao asked Chandrashekar for payment of the amount.

Chandrashekar promised that he will pay the whole sum later with an interest on it. Later, Sambasivarao got enrolled in a new chit and discontinued midway.

He then asked Chandrashekar for the payment of total amount of Rs 13 lakh. As Chandrashekar started dodging payment of the amount, the victim lodged a complaint against former at Banjara Hills police station on Thursday.

Police registered a case under Section 420 and 406 IPC and efforts are on to nab Chandrashekar who is in absconding.
