City CP holds meet with Hindu religious groups

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Sunday held a meeting with representatives of Hindu religious groups and political parties in view of Ayodhya verdict this month.

About 40 leaders from various organisations including RSS, Hindu Vahini, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), BJYM and Mahila Morcha and others attended the meeting held at the Command Control Centre of CP's office.

The situation of the city and maintenance of law and order was discussed in the light of the forthcoming Supreme Court Judgement. All the representatives expressed full commitment for peace and communal harmony in the city.

All the leaders gave assurance that there will not be any celebration or protest irrespective of the nature of court Judgement.

The Commissioner also warned those who try to misuse social media for spreading fake news or rumours.

He cautioned the administrators of all the WhatsApp groups in this regard. Further he appealed all the leaders to immediately bring sensitive issues to the notice of the police so that preventive action can be taken to maintain peace in the city.
