Class 2 boy severely beaten up by drunkard principal dies

Wanaparthy: A second class boy of Sindhuja Primary School in Nagavaram village of Wanaparthy district, who was allegedly beaten up by the school principal some 15 days ago, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Wanaparthy district on Thursday. The boy who caught fever has battled for life all these days before he succumbed on Thursday.

According to sources, the boy, Vamshi of Singaram village from Kodair mandal was admitted by his parents in the hostel run by the management of Sindhuja Coaching Centre. The parents later went to Hyderabad for making a living.

However, it is alleged that on April 3, the school principal, Srinivas Reddy, who was heavily drunk had beaten up the boy severely. The next day, the boy fell ill and caught heavy fever. Initially, the school management and the staff provided preliminary treatment on the school premises. However, as the boy did not respond to the treatment, the school management called the parents and handed over the boy to them and asked them to admit him in a private hospital. The principal promised to bear the cost of boy's treatment.

After 15 days of treatment in a private hospital, the little boy breathed his last on Thursday. Soon after the boy's death, the parents, relatives along with the villagers and student organisation staged a protest in front of the school and demanded action against the school management and the principal responsible for the death of the boy. The student organisation leaders demanded the police to arrest the principal and take strict action against him. Meanwhile, the police intervened and pacified the protestors and promised them of a detailed inquiry besides taking legal action against the school principal.
