Class 8 student caned for chasing a rabbit
Jadcherla: In an incident of corporal punishment in a minority Gurukula Patashala in Jadcherla mandal of Mahbubnagar district, the hostel warden had brutally beaten up an 8th standard student and caused grave injuries to the child.
Though the incident happened two days ago, it came to light only on Tuesday as the boy developed serious health issues due to severe canning. The parents of the students after learning about the incident held a dharna in front of the school and demanded the government take strict action against the warden.
According to sources, Faisal, an 8th class student at the Minority Gurukula Patashala had earlier spotted a rabbit on the school premises and ran after it to catch. Following him, all other students also ran to catch the rabbit. Following this, the hostel warden Ayyub grew angry and called the boy for making a mess in the school and beat him up inflicting grave injuries. The parents and relatives of the boy along with student organisations held a dharna and demanded the higher education officials to immediately take action against the warden.
