Classes at AIIMS Bibinagar to begin from Aug 27
Hyderabad: First year MBBS classes at All India Institute for Medical Sciences, Bibinagar are set to commence from August 27 onwards. However, there is no clarity whether Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao or Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan would be gracing the occasion.
No protocol arrangements are being made in this connection with just a week left for the commencement of classes and hence doubts over presence of high-profile leaders and VVIPs for the programme.
It is learnt that key dignitaries might be attending the inauguration programme of the hospital that would be held after completion of phase-1 in couple of years time.
The AIIMS, Bhopal has been tasked with the responsibility of running AIIMS, Bibinagar for the initial period including staff appointments to ensure MBBS classes function smoothly without any hassles. Dr Sarman Singh, Director, AIIMS Bhopal visited Bibinagar campus and inspected classrooms and other facilities. Two floors (Ground and First Floor) of the old NIMS, Bibinagar building are being used for running classes as well as hostel.
50 students got admissions into this new addition in AIIMS family based on an all India entrance test.
