Close courses that have no takers: MGU V-C to degree colleges

Nalgonda: Mahatma Gandhi University vice-chancellor Dr Khaza Altaf Hussain advised the principals of government and aided degree colleges to maintain biometric system of attendance for students and staff to improve the quality and capacity of institutions.

On Monday, he held a meeting with principals of government and aided degree colleges of erstwhile Nalgonda at university meeting hall.

As part of the meeting, he examined the course-wise strength of students and faculty, and biometric attendance system of colleges.

Addressing the principals, he expressed his concern over the very poor strength (below 10) in many courses at Chandur and Huzurnagar degree colleges and advised principals to recommend to close the courses which have no response from the students.

He further advised principals to follow the norms and recruit the required staff on temporary basis to avoid inconvenience to students.

He directed the college principals to submit a report with details of courses and other requirements with facts and figures to superiors for necessary action.

He instructed every degree college lecturer to attend to evaluation work of degree exams without fail.

In this programme, varsity Registrar M Yadagiri , Academic Audit Director Dr Alvala Ravi, Controller of Examinations Miryala Ramesh, Academic Deputy Director Dr Ram Chander and college principals participated.
