Clothes presented to Christians in Khammam

Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has distributed new clothes to Christians in Khammam on Monday. The Minister along with MP Nama Nageswara Rao participated in the programme, conducted at the Baptist Church in the town.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister informed that the State government was giving more funds for the development of people from all religions and for the festivals like Christmas, Ramzan and Dasara, the government was presenting clothes to the people.

Puvvada said that the distribution of new clothes to Christians was being taken up in both the districts of erstwhile Khammam. He ordered the officials concerned to make arrangements for the distribution programme.

Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao, speaking at the programme, said that the TRS government was taking all steps for the uplift of minority communities in the State. MLC Balasani Laxminarayana, Mayor Dr Paplal, District Collector R V Karnan, District Welfare Officer Ramesh, Tahsildar Srinivas Rao, Deputy Mayor B Murali, Corporator Kamarthapu Murali and others attended the programme.

Later, the Minister along with the MP and the students of civil engineering department of SBIT Engineering College filled potholes on the roads in 26th and 33rd divisions in Khammam town. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the Roads and Buildings department will carry out repairs to all roads in the coming up days. He lauded the engineering students who conducted the programme.
