CM KCR chairs special meeting on usage of Godavari water

Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao chaired a review meeting at Pragati Bhavan on Sunday on the usage of Godavari water with the ministers and officials concerned.

The chief minister has discussed the strategy to reap the benefits through the Kaleshwaram project during this monsoon. The ministers from Godavari catchment area -- KT Rama Rao, Eatala Rajender, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Prashanth Reddy, Indrakaran Reddy, Koppula Eshwar and Satyavati Rathod were present in the meeting. Irrigation officials including Principal secretary Rajat Kumar also took part in the meeting.

The amount of Godavari water to be released this monsoon, how much water should be diverted to SRSP and the LMB, when should the water be released into the reservoirs, how to utilize the water and other related issues are being discussed in the meeting.

Later this month, the Chief Minister will hold a meeting with the officials on the usage of Krishna water in the Kharif season.
