CM to be apprised of sanitary staff issues
Hyderabad: The problems faced by the sanitation staff and their demands like payment of minimum wages would be taken up with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, TRS working president K T Rama Rao and Minister G Jagdish Reddy.This was stated by president of the Telangana State Labour Wing (TSLW) Rambabu Yadav, who was the chief guest, at the third convention organised at the Sundarayya VignanaKendram here on Sunday. He said 28,000 sanitation workers employed in schools are on an eight-hour duty from 7.30 am. Although they had joined as part-time sweepers, they were discharging full-time duties, he added. Vijay Kumar, president, Telangana Government Schools Sanitation Workers' Association, demanded that the government to provide job security to the workers, even while continuing with the old employees. He demanded payment of wages through banks, ID cards, implementation of minimum wages, increased wagesand payment for the last 12 months. Kumar urged Rambabu Yadav to intervene in taking up the demands with the government so as to get them conceded.
Among those present were Maruthi, TRSVK State secretary, Sharada, TRSVK women's wing president, Arvind, TRSVK leader, a large number of sanitation workers from across the State.
